In the event that an investment account is not available on the Community list of securities in Class, you will need to set up a new security in the Securities register.
If the unlisted asset is held by more than one entity you administer then you can create and maintain this unlisted security at navigate to Business level using Securities Register.
Navigate to fund level > Investments > Investment Account
- Enter a unique Security Issue
- Select 'Create Security Issue'
- Enter relevant Description
- Select Market as Unlisted Market
- Select the Security Issue Type of unlisted entity from the dropdown
- Click Save
Reporting Category
At the bottom of the maintain investment account screen, you will find the reporting categories for the investment account. Once an Unlisted Security is created, Class automatically defaults these to set categories. To edit this section please see below.
- Tick Enable Editing Of Reporting Categories box
- Select GL Classification
- Select Tax Return Classification
- Select Capital Gain Classification
- Select Market Type
- Select Include in Performance Reports
- Click Submit
Setting up an Unlisted Foreign Security
This article provides the steps in creating a new Unlisted Foreign Security. If the investment you select is foreign the field will vary from the above.
Navigate to fund level > Investments > Investment Account
- Enter/Create a Security Issue code
- Select Include Foreign Markets using the radio button
- Click Create Security Issue
- Rename the Common Code if desired
- Enter Description of the investment
- Select Currency the foreign currency
- Select Market Type
- Select Security Issue Type of Investment
- Click Save
- Click tick box if you wish to amend the default reporting categories (otherwise skip this step)
- Click 'Activate'
