This article guides you through the steps to activate the Class to BT Panorama accounting software connection. If you are looking to set up a data feed from BT Panorama to Class, you would need to follow the authority process in our page BT Panorama..
A connection can be activated to automatically feed external assets and additional SMSF information (such as member balances, member contributions caps and pension limits) from Class through to an SMSF’s BT Panorama account.
An accounting software connection is available where an accountant has been registered with BT Panorama and linked to an SMSF’s BT Panorama account.
The following guide describes how to activate the connection where the linked accountant is using Class Super software to administer the SMSF.
There are two key parts to activating a connection:
A) The adviser or investor (where no adviser is present) requests to connect to accounting software
B) The accountant authorises the connection to their software for that SMSF BT Panorama account.
Accountants should contact the BT Panorama registered financial adviser or BT Panorama Support on 1300 881 716 (for an investor where no adviser is present) for help on the registration and linking process, if required.
Part A - Requesting a connection as an adviser or investor
If you are an adviser or investor (where no adviser is present), follow these steps to request to connect to an accountant’s Class Super software:
- Sign in to BT Panorama
- Select the SMSF account you wish to connect to the accounting software.
- Navigate to Portfolio views > External Assets and select Connect
- Confirm the connection request by selecting Connect
An email notification will be sent to the linked accountant to notify them of your request. The connection will be activated once they authorise the connection.
Part B - Authorising the connection as a Class user
If you are an accountant linked to an SMSF BT Panorama account, you may receive a request to authorise connection to your accounting software. Follow these steps to authorise BT Panorama to access the SMSF's details within Class:
- Sign in to BT Panorama
- From your client list, select the account that the adviser or investor has requested access to.
- Within the account, navigate to Portfolio view > External assets and select Authorise.
- A modal is displayed to confirm the connection with Class. Select Connect.
- If this is the first time you are authorising an account to be connected to BT Panorama, you will be prompted to login to your Class account in a separate window and you will need to provide a one-time-only authorisation
- Log in to Class (if you are not already logged in)
- Select Allow access to authorise the connection for all funds.
Once you have allowed access you will be redirected back to BT Panorama. The connection is now activated and the SMSF’s external assets and additional SMSF information are now retrieved directly from the accounting software.
You need to authorise connection in BT Panorama (steps 1- 4) for each client account that requests it, however you only need to provide Class Super software authorisation once (step 5-7).
Your authorisation acknowledges that you release your client’s SMSF information stored in your accounting software to be viewable by you, your client and their adviser (if applicable) or other authorised users within BT Panorama. Once enabled, connection from Class to BT Panorama will be active until you revoke it.
