The Cash Console at the Business Level displays unallocated transactions for all entities across the business. It is also available at the Fund Level with reduced functionality.
In this article you will learn the following:
This video shows you how to use the Cash Console at the Business Level to speed up processing in your Class Business.
Using the Cash Console
Navigate to Business Level > Transactions > Cash Console
There are two modes in the Cash Console
- Feed Mode - displays all unmatched data that has been received by Class through an automated data feed. This is the default mode displayed and it shows the current date plus the previous two days.
- All Cash mode - displays all the unmatched transactions including those loaded through an automated data feed and all other sources.
- Reduce the date range
- Include a word in the search box that meets your desired criteria.
When clicking on the menu icon next to a transaction as shown above, this has shortcuts to the following screens.
- Classify - Takes you to the Match to New screen for the fund so you can match off single events like member transactions and tax payments
- View Fund - Takes you to the Fund Dashboard
- View Account - Takes you to the bank account of the transaction in the Bank Statement Screen
- View Rules - Takes you to the view transaction rules screen of the fund where you can edit, delete or create new rules
-
View Unmatched - Takes you to the Match Transaction screen.
Creating Transaction Rules
You can use the cash console to create certain categories of transaction rules. Search for text (a narration or description) to bring up a list of transactions meeting certain criteria.
- Select multiple transactions with a similar description to create a transaction rule for them by using the tick box next to that particular transaction and then
- Click on the Create transaction rules in bulk button
- Click Create Rules and Classify Items to create the transactions
Bulk Classify Cash
This function will classify one or more events that have been selected once-off, so no transaction rule will be created for this event.
You may want to use this function for events that happen once a year and change annually eg. ASIC, accounting fees, auditor fees.
- Select multiple transactions with a similar description to bulk classify by using the tick box next to that particular transaction and then
- Click on the Create transaction rules in bulk button
Bulk Generate Income
This feature will Generate Income in bulk for a specific security and Automatch across all entities.
It should be used where the amount in the announcement event differs from the cash event. For example, BHP or WPL are Australian shares that pay dividends in US$. In this example, the amount in the original business event will not match the final amount due to the foreign exchange difference. Rather than click generate income for all entities that are entitled to receive the BHP dividend at the fund level, you can use this feature to update the income announcement for all entities at once.
- Australian listed investments, including Stapled Securities and ETFs
- Managed funds
- mFunds
- Foreign listed investments traded on the supported foreign markets.
- Click Bulk Generate Income
- Type a security code in the Lookup Investments field (name or code of the investment that you would like to generate the income for)
- Click Search
- Select the investment from the list (You can select multiple investments at the same time)
- Click the Create Income Events and Auto Match button
- A warning will pop up to show you that Bulk Generate Income is currently in progress (This is to prevent another user from clicking the button again until after the processing has been completed)
- Press F5 on the keyboard to refresh the status (The progress will be updated accordingly)
- Once the action is completed, a Log button will appear
