This user guide walks you through how to manually upload documents into the VMR platform, either individually or in bulk.
Overview
This article explains how to manually upload documents into the Virtual Mailroom (VMR) platform, including the steps to upload individual files or multiple documents in bulk using the VMR user interface.
Accessing the VMR Platform
To begin the manual upload process, first access the VMR application:
- Navigate to the VMR Platform using the Class VMR link available in the side‑panel hamburger menu near the Class logo at the Class business level.
- Selecting this link will take you directly to the VMR dashboard.
Navigating to File Upload
To locate and use the file upload option within the VMR application:
- Click the hamburger menu on the left‑hand side of the VMR landing page.
- From the menu options, select Upload File.
- Upload documents either individually or in bulk from your local or shared drive.
- If any files were added by mistake, select the corresponding checkboxes to remove them before submitting.
- Once Submit is selected, the file upload is completed immediately, and the user can return to the dashboard by selecting Return to Dashboard.
Upload Experience
The upload screen uses a drag‑and‑drop interface, allowing users to easily add one or multiple files for submission. This enables faster and more streamlined file management when uploading documents into VMR.
Note: Once documents are uploaded, they will appear on the dashboard under the Document Classified section within the Loaded menu. The documents are then placed into the automation pipeline for classification and data extraction. After processing is complete, documents move to Human‑in‑the‑Loop (HITL) review, where they are either marked as Ready for publishing to downstream systems such as Class DMS or SharePoint, or flagged as Errors if human intervention is required.
Bulk upload supports a total file size of up to 300 MB per upload, with a maximum of 100 MB per individual file. VMR currently supports PDF and Word document formats only. Uploading unsupported file types such as PNG, JPEG, or CSV will result in an import error, which will be displayed as an error message within the Loaded or Classified views of the Documents Classified section. Support for additional file formats is planned for a future release. Documents in the Documents Classified and Human in the Loop states are retained for 90 days, after which they are automatically deleted.
