Overview
The Property Title Search feature is integrated as part of Class to enable seamless ordering of Title Certificates for properties. After a successful order, key information of Title Search including ownership details will be visible within the Title Search screen and the Title Certificate will be saved in the Class DMS.
Billing for the cost of the Title Search will be added to the next monthly Class invoice with an itemised spreadsheet to identify the entity and property the certificate was purchased for.
Here is the overview for Property Title Search:
- Account name: property description in Maintain Property Account
- Address: the address is used for Title search or Address search order
- Type: property type saved in Maintain Property Account
- Title Reference: enter a title reference for title search
- Request address search: you can purchase a title reference based on property address, view more details here
- Request title search: click Request title search for a title search
- Order date: the date placed a title search order
- Title issued date: the date issued the property title
- Owner details: owner information on title search document
- Second schedule: mortgage information if it is available on title search document
- Source: title search document provider
- Ordered by: user's email address to place an order
- Title reference: title reference used for a title search order

Restrict user order permission
The Property Title Search Access Setting allows an Access Controller to restrict title search order in a Business, to Access Controllers or users with Read and Write access (default)
Read and Write access users include the roles of Access Controller, Administrator, Feed Administrator & Tax Agent. If this setting is selected each of those users in a Business will be able to request an order.
Navigate to Business Level > Settings > Security > Property Title Search Access Settings
This setting will only be visible to Access Controllers to see and update
Entering a Title Reference
Title Searches must be purchased using a valid Title Reference, which need to be entered in the correct format to proceed with the search. If you're unsure of the Title Reference for a property, please refer to here for on how to obtain one using an Address Search based on the property's address.
Navigate to Fund Level > Investments > Property Console
- Select the Property you wish to order a Title Search for
- Click Title Searches
- Enter the Title Reference for the Property, then click Save.
Ensure you have the correct Title Reference for the property. When purchasing a Title Reference, our provider does not verify that the Title Reference matches the address of the property.
Editing a Title Reference
When there is no pending Address Search or Title Search order, you are able to edit and order for another Title Search.
- Click on Edit for Title reference field
- Remove the existing Title Reference and enter another Title Reference
- Click on Save
Ordering a Title Search
- Enter the Title Reference, then click Save
- Click Request to order a Title search
- After you have reviewed the Fee details for the Title Search, click the checkbox confirming you acknowledge the purchase
- Click Place title order
- You will be redirected to the Property Title Search screen with your placed order, which will be in Pending state until the order is successfully processed, this may take a few minutes to update.

Once your order has been processed, the status will update to Complete and you will be able to view the document in our Document Management System by clicking View.
Contact Class support if your order is pending for more than 15 minutes. Do not try to reorder when there is a pending order as you may be billed multiple times for subsequent orders.
Cost of a Title Search
The cost of a Title Search varies across the States a Territories in Australia. The cost will be added to the monthly Class invoice in the month following a purchase. The cost below is correct as at 11th Sep 2025:

It’s important to ensure the correct Title Reference is entered for a property, as orders using a valid Title Reference are non-refundable. No charges apply for searches using an invalid Title Reference. If you order a Title Reference through an Address Search based on the property address, this will be charged separately.
