I am unable to access Browse Activity Statements and the TFN, ABN and tax agent have been set up correctly. The error message shows as "Access to the activity statement is not available. Contact the Tax Office".
There are a number of possible causes:
- Account Sequence Number has not been entered in Class
- Fund ABN or TFN is incorrect
- You are not authorised BAS agent for this fund
Scenario 1: Account Sequence Number has not been entered in Class
Navigate to Fund level > Fund > Fund Details
- Click on "Edit"
- From the pop-up Screen, Enter the Account Sequence Number
Notes: For SMSFs established after December 2014, the Account Sequence Number will usually be 004. This can be confirmed from the Tax Agent portal, under the Client's Profile details (contact the ATO if further assistance is needed).
Scenario 2: Fund ABN or TFN is incorrect
Confirm the Fund's ABN and TFN are correctly entered in Class.
Scenario 3: You are not authorised BAS agent for this fund
To confirm this, log into Tax Agent portal and check client's Profile Details (contact the ATO if further assistance needed).
