Issue

The Annual Return amount does not match the financial statement amount.

Cause

There are two causes of this issue:

Cause 1:

This can occur when some transactions are updated and the Period Update is rerun without amending the Annual Return. As the Annual Return was generated based on the previous tax finalisation, the amount in the Annual Return will be different to the amount in the financial statement. 

Cause 2:

The Annual Return has been updated manually.

Any updates to the Annual Return will not reflect back to the Statement of Financial Position or Operating Statement. Refer to How to update Annual Return to reflect the amendment of Provision for Income Tax for the situations where you need to update the Annual Return to reflect the amendment of Provision for Income Tax 

Resolution

To resolve the issue for Cause 1:

1. Rerun the Period update to clear up the modified events
2. rerun the tax finalisation
3. click on View Tax return
4. click on Discard and Regenerate 
   
   
   
5. click on the latest tax finalisation.
