Overview
This report can be run as at any specified date or a period end date. It can also be run as at the fund opening position load date to assist users with reconciliation to prior financial years.
The report will have two cost base fields:
- Original Cost - this is the book cost and includes any first element adjustments e.g. capital return, and capital call
- Calculated Cost Base Amount (for tax purposes) - this will be either:
- Adjusted cost base (original cost base minus tax deferred adjustments) where the asset is in a capital gain position, or
- Reduced cost base (adjusted cost base minus any tax free adjustments) where the asset is in a capital loss position. (Please note that tax free amounts will only reduce the reduced cost base of an asset when the asset is in a Capital Loss position, not when the asset parcel is in a Capital Gain position.)
