How do I add an Individual Trustee or Director of a Corporate Trustee who is not a member of the fund?

Background

This knowledge base article applies to the following situations:

• A SMSF needs an Individual trustee, because it is/becomes a sole-member fund
• A SMSF needs a director of the corporate trustee who is not a member of the fund
• A Trust needs an Individual trustee who is not a beneficiary of the trust
• A Trust needs a director of the corporate trustee who is not a beneficiary of the trust

Resolution

Step 1: Add Contact

Navigate to Fund level > Fund > Fund Structure

1. Click on Add Contact
   
   
2. Enter First Name (compulsory field)
3. Enter Family Name (compulsory field)
4. Enter all the applicable information
5. Click on Addresses tab to enter Address
6. Click on Save
   
   
7. Click on Roles tab
8. Select Director (when it is a corporate trustee) or Trustee (Individual)
9. Click on Save
   
   

Step 2:  Make Trustee

Navigate to Fund level > Fund > Fund Structure

1. Click on Make Trustee

 The trustee will now show under List of Trustees, from here, you can choose to assign this trustee as a Chairperson or remove them as trustee
