Is SMSFDATAFLOW a valid Electronic Service Address? I am getting an error message "The provider is no longer a valid messaging provider. Update the information below."

 Resolution

The ATO updated the Electronic Service Address (ESA) alias from a free text field to a dropdown list. Unfortunately, the ATO did not implement the migration in a way that accepts both capital casing, i.e., SMSFDATAFLOW, and lower casing, i.e., smsfdataflow.

The ESA is case sensitive. To avoid seeing the above message from the ATO, Class recommends you update the ESA on the ATO's Tax Agent Portal by selecting smsfdataflow from the dropdown list and click Save.
