Issue

When lodging an Annual Return, a validation error "Invalid Text Field" shows up for a Corporate Trustee. How can I clear the validation error?

Cause

The Corporate Trustee has a registered name with an underscore, for example A_B Pty Ltd. Although this is a valid legal name when registering with the Australian Securities & Investments Commission (ASIC), it does not pass the tax return validation in Class.

Resolution

Navigate to Fund Level > Periodic processing > Browse Tax Lodgments

1. Click on the relevant financial year
2. Click on Annual Return 
3. Go to Section K
4. Replace the text field Underscore "_" in the Individual Tax Return to Hyphen "-" 
5. Click on Save or Approve.

After lodging the Tax Return navigate back to Section K to change the Corporate Trustee name back to the original name with underscore "_".
