This article will guide you through the process of configuring an existing Tax Agent contact person for SBR purposes.
Ensure the Tax Agent person is first set-up on Class before setting up SBR. Refer to Tax Agent setup for guidance on the process of setting up a Tax Agent person in Class.
In this article we will go through the following steps;
Generating CAA Software ID
Navigate to Business Level > Business > Business Contacts
- Select the Tax Agent contact
- Select the Roles tab
- Select Generate
- Click the two tick boxes to agree with the SBR user agreement and acknowledgment
- Select Generate Software ID
- Take note of the SBR keys
- Click Close
Registering the SBR Keys with the ATO
There are two options to register the generated SBR keys with the ATO to enable direct electronic lodgments of returns:
Phone ATO
You can contact the ATO on 1300 852 232 and register the SBR keys by providing the following details:
- Proof of record ownership (e.g. personal TFN, DOB, address, recent ATO generated notice)
- Your registered Tax Agent Number (TAN)
- Your firm's Australian Business Number (ABN) for the lodging entity
- The name and ABN of the software provider (Class Super, ABN: 46 121 158 503)
- your unique Software ID - SBR keys generated
Using Access Manager
The SBR keys can be registered online by logging into Access Manager:
Select My hosted SBR software services (previously nominate an online software provider) from the left-hand menu
- Select Notify the ATO of your hosted service
- Search for a hosted SBR software service provider in the list, or search by entering the ABN or name (Class Super, ABN: 46 121 158 503)
- Select the ABN link of a hosted SBR software service provider
- Enter the unique software ID you generated in Class and select Next
- Read the Notification statement then select Save
A green success message will appear on the next screen to confirm your notification.
