Period Update Improvement

What has changed?

The Period Update process "locks" the page and you cannot do anything else in Class while the Period Update process is running
Any errors encountered are displayed on the Period Update screen, but are lost as soon as you close the Period Update page
For a large fund you may experience a "Gateway Timeout 504" error - this "unlocks" the page and you lose visibility of the progress of the Period Update, including any errors that may have occurred

The Period Update process runs in the background and no longer "locks" the page and you are able to do other processing in Class while it's running
The status of the Period Update process is displayed and automatically updates when the process is complete
Any errors encountered are recorded in the data base and are visible until such time as a new period update is processed
You will no longer experience the "Gateway Timeout 504" error for large funds

The way you initiate a Period Update has not changed.

After the Period Update has been triggered, you will be returned to the Financial Year page with the Period Update flagged as "In Progress".

If you hover over the information icon next to the "In Progress" status, help text as below will be displayed.

The page will periodically check the status of the Period Update and will update the status information based on the result of the Period Update.

If the processing was successful, the page look will exactly as below:

If an error was encountered, the status will be updated to "Errored":

From this page you can either:

View the errors by clicking on "Errored" link (will display a page will all the errors listed - see below), or
Rerun the Period update by clicking in the "New Period" button (will display the existing "Process Period Update" page

Else , hover over the error tooltip icon in the "Info" column to view the errors

Once you have reviewed and rectified all the errors and rerun the Period update by clicking the "New" button.

If there are any warnings the "Info" column will display a warning icon and a clickable text to see more information
