An actuarial certificate can be requested from one of Class' actuarial integration partners. This page details the steps for how to request an actuarial certificate.
It is your responsibility to review all the data to make sure all the member related income and expenses are captured for actuarial purposes before sending it to the Actuary for an Actuarial Certificate.
Prerequisites
- The actuarial provider has been set as a default under the business level settings
- The fund is not segregated for pension exemption purposes
- The fund does not have any defined benefit (non-commutable) style of pension account
- The fund should have at least one Account Based pension during the financial year
Navigate to Fund Level > Periodic Processing > Period Update
Requesting an Actuarial Certificate
Once you have met the prerequisites:
- Run a period update to 30 June of the relevant financial year
- Click Request Actuarial Certificate
- Class will display the Request Actuarial Certificate page
Reviewing Actuarial Information on Class
There are multiple tabs on the Request Actuarial Certificate page.
- The Details tab
Administrator Details - The administrator details are currently pre-filled based on the Business Details. We recommend that you have entered your Business Details with Address, Contact Phone Number, Email Address etc.
Fund Details - Captures fund name and trustee details. We recommend you enter an ACN/ABN for a corporate Trustee.
Closing Balance - This amount is the closing fund balance before tax. - Member and Reserves tab
The remaining tabs contain information for member and reserve related transactions.
You can also click on view audit trail to view the full Member and Pension Account Balance.
The income and tax allocation does not impact the Actuarial Balance. The system will pre-populate all the information necessary to work out an actuarial percentage.
Obtaining the Actuarial Certificate
Review all information on the Request Actuarial Certificate page, click on the Request from.... button:
This is accessed on the screen after clicking on Request Actuarial Certificate button. The provider will be the one that has been selected as the default at the business level under settings.

Once the Actuarial Certificate has been obtained
Depending on the provider the actuarial % will automatically update or need to be manually entered in the Fund Policy section.
