Below are some common causes for unbalanced accounts. It will be much easier to investigate them by going to a reconciliation page.
Navigate to Fund Level > Investments > Browse Holding Accounts > Reconciliation
- Pending corporate actions - Go to "Browse Corporate Action" page to process corporate actions.
- "Ledger data" balance has 0 unit but the "feed data" balance still has some units. This is a common situation. Many data feed providers don't send data for investments with zero unit to Class. What Class users can do is go to Investments > Browse Holding Accounts > click on the “three dots” icon associated with the unbalanced account located on the far-right hand side> Suspend Account.
- Most data feed providers don’t send updated holding balance data for investments with “deferred settlement” in its description (e.g., ANZDA- ANZ Group Holdings Limited - Ordinary Fully Paid Deferred Settlement). You can just leave them as they are or suspend them by following instruction explained in point no 2. Below is an example of how it looks like on the reconciliation page.
- There are transfer in/out from one broker to another one or in-specie transfer events. These types of transactions need to be processed manually on Class. Some feed providers would provide short description (e.g., Adjustment) that might let Class users know there is a transfer in/out happened. This can be seen on the reconciliation page. In this case, please refer to the portfolio transaction report provided by the broker or platform provider for more info.
- There is a small difference due to a rounding issue. In this case, Class users can adjust one of the buy/sale transaction unit numbers at the end of a financial year to make the “ledger data” balance match up with the “feed data” balance again. Below is an example of this situation.
