What is the Class Electronic Service Address (ESA) address and where can I find it?
Resolution
Class provides a free ESA for funds that are active on Class. The criteria to use this ESA are:
- The fund must be loaded to Class and active
- The fund must have a valid ABN
- Members' TFNs must be correctly recorded in Class
The ESA address for a fund in Class is smsfdataflow.
Only one ESA address can be used by a Fund at a time.
How can a fund start using this ESA?
The members should notify their respective employers of the Class ESA address if they want to use Class' ESA for employer contributions. The ESA will also be reported to the ATO in the annual return of the fund.
If a fund hasn't lodged an annual return yet, nor received contributions using the Class ESA, the Tax Agent of the fund can update the ESA address on the Tax Agent Portal. This is particularly important for new funds before initiating the Rollover or Release Authority request.
Where can I find a report with the Class ESA?
Navigate to Fund Level > Reports > Run report
- Search for SuperStream ESA notification
- Select Run
- The ESA can be found in the ESA Notification attachment
The SuperStream ESA notification contains a letter to the member "SuperStream & electronic messaging compliance" and a Letter to the employer which can be forwarded to the member's employer.
