Welcome to the January edition of our Class FAQs.
This month, we’re revisiting key topics—Data Feeds along with Connect Share Registry, and essential Tax Lodgment tips. With the due date approaching, these lodgment insights are aimed to help you feel prepared and supported for lodgment.
Data Feeds
- Class supports more than 230 data feeds. To view the complete list of supported feeds, along with detailed information on feed setup, cash data availability, historical data support, and other key specifications, please refer to our Data Feeds Overview page.
- If you’re wondering why a feed has stopped or appears to have an issue, you can check our Data Feed Status page for the latest updates, including current status and any comments outlining what actions may be required.
- If you have ever wondered about a feed’s status—whether it is in a setup, waiting, or any other state—and would like to understand what the current status indicates, you can refer to the Feed Console Status article. This resource explains the filters used to categorise feed states, outlines the individual status types, and provides guidance on the appropriate actions to take for each status.
- There are several scenarios where a data feed may be active but no data has loaded beyond a certain date. In many cases, the fund may have a ‘Fund End Date’ or a ‘Do Not Load Data After’ date recorded. If you would like to understand what these statuses indicate and how they affect data loading, you can refer to this article for further information.
- There are instances where certain feeds may appear to be missing transactions. Some data feeds include functionality that allows you to request historical transactions. This help article outlines which feeds support this feature and provides instructions on how to submit a historical data request.
Connect Share registries
Since August 2024, Class has introduced functionality that allows you to connect directly with Share Registries to retrieve holding balances and ownership details for both broker‑sponsored and issuer‑sponsored holdings. This enhancement is designed to streamline and accelerate the SMSF audit process.
- For guidance on how to connect using HIN/SRN, including accepted formats and troubleshooting tips, please refer to the Connect Share Registry help article.
- We also offer an FAQ page that addresses many of the most common questions.
February Annual Return Lodgment
The ATO lodgment deadline for newly registered SMSFs is approaching, and Class continues to focus on helping our customers drive efficiency through our tax lodgement functionality.
Class enables you to lodge SMSF tax returns directly with the ATO in just a few clicks. Key benefits of lodging through Class include:
- Time savings: Lodge multiple tax returns in bulk from a single screen. Refer to the Lodging an Annual Return article for step‑by‑step instructions on bulk lodgement.
- Centralised management: Track and manage all SMSF lodgements across your business via the Tax lodgement console.
- Fewer errors: Exporting the validated Annual Return to MYOB and Xero is supported in Class, helping to minimise the risk of human error by removing the need for manual data entry into external software systems. You can refer to How to export the SMSF annual return into Xero and MYOB article for more information.
